2023 Conference Planning Committee
Time Commitment: 1-2 years
Requirements: ARN Member in good standing
General Info: The committee begins work approximately twelve (12) months prior to the conference. All meetings are held via conference call according to the conference planning timeline.
Committee members focus on selecting quality educational conference content. The committee determines the conference topics, participates in identifying and contacting speakers, cooperates in obtaining speaker information and may serve as moderators.
Chapter Support Committee
Time Commitment: 1-2 years
Requirements: ARN Member in good standing; must have served in a leadership capacity in an ARN chapter.
General Info: This committee supports and encourages chapter growth. Committee members maintain communication with local chapters and provide feedback to the board about the overall vitality of the chapters. The Chapter Support Committee evaluates and selects the recipients of the ARN Chapter Awards and helps plan and execute the Chapter Leaders Event at the annual conference.
Continuing Education Provider Unit (CEPU)
Time Commitment: 1-2 years
Requirements: ARN Member in good standing
General Info: The CEPU Committee assesses and supports the educational opportunities provided by ARN and ensures that those activities are within the ANCC guidelines. As a provider of continuing nursing education, ARN will maintain accreditation through the American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). ARN CEPU will adhere to ANCC criteria, policies and procedures in its operations and in planning, implementing and evaluating education activities. This committee meets by conference call 3-5 times per year.
Fellowship Selection Committee
Time Commitment: 1 year
Requirements: ARN Member in good standing, Fellow of ARN
General Info: The Fellowship Selection Committee reviews and launches the application for Fellows each year as well as reviews applications and provides a recommendation to the Board of Directors on which applicants to approve into the Fellowship program. This committee also encourages volunteerism of current Fellows and mentors potential Fellows as they work through the application process. Work of this committee takes place via conference call every other month, or more frequently as required.
Health Policy Committee
Time Commitment: 1-2 years
Requirements: ARN Member in good standing
General Info: The Health Policy Committee serves as a resource to government relations staff and consultants for information on specific rehabilitation issues, as well as provides input and comments of relevant rehabilitation nursing health policy issues. This committee also evaluates and selects the ARN NIWI Scholarship recipient. Work of this committee takes place via conference call every other month, or more frequently as required.
Nominating and Leadership Development Committee
General Info: The Nominating and Leadership Development Committee supports and promotes engagement of the leadership of ARN and works to develop an annual ballot of leaders for the membership to vote on. The work of this committee takes place via conference call every month, or more frequently as required.
Advancing Science and Practice Committee (Formerly Research Committee)
Time Commitment: 1-2 years
Requirements: ARN Member in good standing; must have one of the following: research-focused doctorate, MSN, or BSN with DNP
General Info: The Advancing Science and Practice Committee supports and promotes the conduction of research and program evaluation studies that are important to rehabilitation nursing as well as review grant proposals in even-numbered years. The Advancing Science and Practice Special Interest Group (SIG) reports to this committee. The work of this committee takes place via conference call every month, or more frequently as required.

Item Development Committee
Time Commitment: 2 years
Requirements: ARN Member in good standing
General Info: The Item Development Committee assures that the context of the CRRN examination reflects current rehabilitation nursing practice and develops new items for possible inclusion on the examination.
CRRN Audit Panel
Time Commitment: Ongoing
Requirements: ARN Member in good standing; current CRRN Certificate
General Info: The CRRN Audit Panel implements the points of credit renewal process. Panel members audit a percentage of the applicants each year. The work of this panel takes place via conference call and electronically.
Rehabilitation Nursing Certification Board
Time Commitment: 5 years
Requirements: ARN Member in good standing, CRRN preferred; Master's degree preferred.
General Info: The Rehabilitation Nursing Certification Board (RNCB) develops, administers, and evaluates the certification program for rehabilitation nursing.

Rehabilitation Nursing Editorial Board
Time Commitment: 2 years
Requirements: ARN Member in good standing; Masters degree required; published author
General Info: The RNJ Editorial Board is responsible for the editorial review of manuscripts submitted for publication in Rehabilitation Nursing and assists the editor in shaping the vision and future direction of the journal. The work of the Editorial Board is done primarily electronically, with three meetings per year, two via conference call and one in-person at the annual educational conference.
Rehabilitation Nursing Peer Reviewer
- Time Commitment: open
- Requirements: ARN Member in good standing; published author; baccalaureate degree
- General Info: RNJ Reviewers are assigned manuscripts to review by the editor and associate editor. RNJ is always looking for qualified and interested reviewers for manuscripts to provide detailed, well-thought-out reviews to our authors. The work of peer reviewers is done electronically.
